Life to the Max Show #183
"Picture Kosovo"
In 1999, during the Kosovo war, photography company Lifetouch partnered with Kosovo Partners (KP), a Minnesota-based humanitarian organization. The purpose of the partnership was to assist KP in providing the Kosovar refugees in Albania with new ID cards, which were needed to cross international borders to safety. In 2001, the partnership continued with a trip to Kosovo to teach kids about photography. In 2013, the relationship was re-ignited. This time, the trip centered around teaching photography to students both young and old. Join us as we follow the award-winning "Life to the Max" crew to capture another amazing story of people coming together to make a difference in the lives of others. "Return to Kosovo"
In the late 1990s, a war between Kosovo and Serbia was in full force. Kosovo villages were devastated, and "ethnic cleansing" took an estimated 11,000 lives. Meet Minnesotans who helped bring relief to villages and the people who suffered in the aftermath of these atrocities. Learn how the Minnesota-based photography company, Lifetouch, got involved with the relief efforts and how this led to mission trip partnerships that have continued through the years. Meet Lifetouch volunteers who returned to Kosovo 13 years later and hear their personal reflection on the trips and the life-changing joy they receive when they "Give Back."
